"Prosperous Armenia" refuses to take part in presidential election
Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party, will not run for presidency at the forthcoming presidential election in Armenia. The decision was made at today's sitting of the Political Council, the press service of the party reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that the presidential election in Armenia was scheduled for February 18, 2013.
Let us note here that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia has nominated the incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan. Intentions to take part in the race were expressed by Raffi Ovannisyan, a former Foreign Minister and now the chairman of the "Heritage" Party; and Paruir Airikyan, the head of the Association "National Self-Determination".
