Special operation is on in Semender, Dagestan
In the course of a special operation conducted near Makhachkala, one power agent was killed and two others wounded, law enforcers of the Republic of Dagestan have confirmed. Prior to the armed clash, five women and one child went out of the house that was then stormed.
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the township of Semender in Makhachkala in the morning on March 20. Power agents tried to negotiate with the people blocked in one of the houses of the township; and about 11:00 p.m. Moscow time, special forces began storming the house.
"Within the CTO regime introduced in Semender, a household in Moskovskaya Street was blocked," the spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "In the course of negotiations, five women and one child went out of the house. At 22:05 p.m., the criminals remaining in the house opened fire at law enforcers."
As a result of the incident three employees of the FSB Department for Dagestan suffered gunshot wounds; later one of them died, said the local MIA.
