Azerbaijan hands over two persons detained while crossing the border to Armenia
The handover ceremony of the two Armenian citizens detained in Azerbaijan after crossing the border, took place today under the mediation of representatives of the Yerevan and Baku offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
"The Azerbaijani State Commission on Prisoners of War (POWs), Hostages and Missing Persons has appealed to the ICRC in Baku asking to mediate in the return of the two Armenian civilians," said Ilakha Guseinova, the head of Public Relations of the ICRC in Azerbaijan.
According to her story, the ICRC stated its readiness for the activities consistent with its mandate, the "APA" reports.
"The civilians were handed over in the vicinity of the settlement of Kayanavan, the Tavush Region of Armenia," the "PanARMENIAN.Net" quotes Armen Kaprielyan, the head of the working group of the above Commission on POWs, Hostages and Missing Persons.
