Tbilisi: policemen disperse protest action of street vendors

Today in Tbilisi street vendors demanded from the authorities to allow them to trade freely until January 15. The police have dispersed the action.

During the action the protesters blocked a road near the metro station "Samgori". Policemen demanded to unblock it, but some people would not obey; and the police dispersed the rally of vendors, the "Interpressnews" reports.

Activists say that they had taken loans in banks and have to pay them back, so, they need a permit to trade. The action was attended by about 30 persons, the "Georgia-Online" reports.

Earlier, on October 23, the traders of the Navtlug marketplace located in the capital of Georgiaheld their protest action, demanding to ban street trade in front of the marketplace.

    In Novorossiysk, a court found Natalia Fedorenko, an advocate of blogger Vadim Kharchenko*, guilty of violating privacy and banned her from practicing law for two years. Natalia Fedorenko was also sentenced to community service.
