About 25 supporters of former Prime Minister Merabishvili rally in front of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia

About 25 supporters of the former Prime Minister of Georgia are holding a spontaneous picket outside at the building of the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, demanding to provide an advocate to Vano Merabishvili.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vano Merabishvili, the former Deputy Interior Minister and the former Prime Minister of Georgia, the Secretary General of the pro-government, and now oppositional party "United National Movement", is suspected of using a forged passport during the visit of the official delegation of Georgia to Armenia on November 30 – at the customs he presented a passport to another name but with his photo.

Today at midday he was summoned for questioning to the Prosecutor's Office about his attempt of crossing the border under a false identity document.

The former Prime Minister came to the Prosecutor's Office without a lawyer; however, later he said that he needed one, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
