Solo picket in support of Syrian Circassians held in Nalchik
On December 2, Albert Dyshekov, 27, a local resident, held a solo picket in Nalchik in Abkhazia Square with a demand to provide help to Circassians in Syria, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The picketer held a poster reading "Circassians perish in Syria! Russia! Save your compatriots!", "Law on compatriots shall work for all: bring Syrian Circassians home!"
The picket took place from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., said Albert Dyshekov. He reminded that on November 24 in Abkhazia Square of Nalchik, the solo picket of Beslan Teuvazhev, a local resident, was stopped. Policemen took him and five passers-by to the local police station for questioning.
The situation in Syria has reached the limit, said Chelar Kat, a repatriate from Syria who lives in Nalchik. "Rebels now keep control over the main military bases in the outskirts of Damascus. Now, the fights for the city itself are underway," said the Syrian repatriate.
He added thatCircassian settlements Bir Al-Azham and Bereka on Golan Heightsare still under warfare. "The situation has reached its limit; Syria is under complete chaos. It's not clear who controls this or that district. The government army suffers huge losses," Chelar Kat has stated.
