Murzaev: only through will of the authorities those who beat me can be found

Absalitdin Murzaev, the head of the Board of Elders of the Kumyk People, who was beaten on March 3 in Dagestan, is sure that crime can be solved quickly only given the want of local authorities.

"It all happened in broad daylight; there are video records, where everyone can clearly see everything; there is a car with numbers plates, although later it became clear that the plates were delivered for disposal; however, it's also a trace. Now, only the will of the relevant bodies is needed; if the authorities want, the crime will be solved; otherwise it is quite possible that state officials themselves are behind it," Absalitdin Murzaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Murzaev has noted that he felt relatively OK, although "he still had headache." In his turn, Sergey Khalidov, Murzaev's attending physician, said that his patient had undergone a complete examination. Murzaev was diagnosed as "a mild brain contusion; fractures of his left arm; multiple face abrasions and head haematomas". The traumas were qualified as moderate. The patient receives the proper treatment, the doctor said.

Arsene Shabanov, the acting head of the inquiry subdivision of the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala, said that a criminal case had been opened.
