Khugaev reported mass dismissal of contractors from office in the building sites of South Ossetia

The number of prime contractors working in the sphere of recovery of destroyed infrastructure in South Ossetia will be considerably reduced. It is planned to set up contracts only with the contractors who “deserve confidence” of the Government. This was reported by Prime Minister of South Ossetia Rostik Khugaev at a briefing in Tskhinvali on December, 2.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that recovery of destroyed infrastructure in South Ossetia was going with violations and inconsistencies. In 2010 the Chamber of Accounts of the Russian Federation arrived at a conclusion that the authorities of the republic failed to draw the funds from Russian state budget in time. Earlier, in December of 2008, various violations and inconsistencies were revealed during inspection. In November of 2012, the Minister of Construction Anatoly Meshalkin was dismissed from office. The reason of his dismissal was being out-of-time with the promised terms of reconstructive works.

All in all, according to Khugaev, 157 prime contractors were brought into play, “Res” agency reports. He promised that construction in five of the most complete central streets in Tskhinvali would be accomplished in 2013. The same year the center of the town will be finished. “Construction of the roadways and laying underground pipelines will be over in 2015”, the official summed up.
