Moscow court extends arrest of Ruslan Zhamborov
In Moscow today, the Tver District Court has extended till March 7 the arrest of Ruslan Zhamborov, the head of the Department for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the Federal Post Service of Russia; this was announced by Alexandra Berezina, the press secretary of the court.
"The court has found the arguments of the investigators, who asked not to change his freedom restriction measure and leave him in custody, duly justified, and upheld the petition. In its turn, the defence asked to chose a softer measure for Zhamborov arguing that there is no need to keep him at the isolation facility. The court did not agree with the arguments of the defence lawyers and ruled to leave the official behind bars till March 7, 2013," Ms Berezina told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", Vladimir Zhamborov, Minister of State Property of the KBR, Khabdulsalam Ligidov and Ruslan Zhamborov are suspected of a swindle at undertaking a deal assuming a transfer of the building of Philharmonic Society into ownership to entrepreneur Madina Khatsugova for one million roubles at the actual cost of the building of 20 million roubles.
