Oppositional candidates reject the totals of presidential election in Armenia

The Armenian oppositional forces believe that the presidential election was held with violations and were falsified. This was stated by the election offices of the ex-candidates, who took part in the 2013 presidential election.

One of them, Raffi Ovannisyan, has lodged his complaint to the Central Election Commission (CEC) with a demand to nullify the results and recount the votes; however, the CEC has rejected the petition.

The head of the election office of Arman Melikyan told the "Caucasian Knot" that the ex-candidate was preparing an application to the Constitutional Court.

Andreas Gukasyan, another ex-candidate, said that the statement about Serzh Sargsyan's victory did not reflect the people's will. "I call the presidential candidates who would not agree to Sargsyan's victory at fictitious election to unite efforts towards invalidating the CEC's conclusion," said Gukasyan.

The supporters of ex-candidate Grant Bagratyan are also rejecting the election outcome; however, they did not lodge any complaints to the CEC.

The ex-candidate Vardan Sedrakyan told reporters that he did not accept the election totals and the presidency of Serzh Sargsyan. He has called to form an all-nation movement and within the time remaining till the inauguration "to get rid of the current regime."
