ICRF: schoolgirl who disappeared in Rostov Region converted to Islam in Dagestan

In Dagestan, a 14-year-old Natalia Melnikova, who on November 7 disappeared in the town of Zernograd of the Rostov Region, was found. The girl left her home to convert to Islam in Dagestan. This was reported by the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Let us remind you that Natalia Melnikova, the 14-year-old schoolgirl, was declared wanted after her disappearance in Zernograd. Ten search teams were established to search for the teenager, and volunteers were also involved in searching for the disappeared girl.

As a result of search operations, Natalia Melnikova was found by policemen in the village of Argvani of the Gumbet District of Dagestan.

On November 23, the minor was brought to the Investigatory Division. According to her, she left Zernograd on her own, since she wanted to convert to Islam, and she did that in the city of Makhachkala.

According to Natalia Melnikova, in Dagestan, none committed any crimes against her.

"Investigators carry out necessary measures to reveal all the circumstances of the incident, and the procedural decision will be made after the check," stated the report, published on the official website of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation.
