In Dagestan, resident of Gubden village claims disappearance of his brother after his detention by power agents during special operation

Relatives of Abubakar Udziev, a resident of the village of Gubden of the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, claim that on November 20, he was detained by power agents during the special operation; however, at present, they cannot reveal his whereabouts. Investigators told the relatives of Abubakar Udziev that he escaped after being detained.

On November 20, in the village of Gubden, there was a special operation, in which an OMON (riot police) fighter was killed in a shootout, and one more OMON fighter was wounded. Power agents also reported that during the assault on the blockaded house in the village, a 43-year-old Taimas Taimasov, who was put on the federal wanted list on suspicions of being a militant, was killed.

According to informed sources, Taimas Taimasov was not long in the blocked house: when the OMON fighters demanded to leave the house, the owner with his wife and children came out of the house and told the policemen that there were no one else in the house, and after that, the militant, who was in the house, suddenly opened fire on the OMON fighters. According to the newspaper "Kommersant", the owner of the house, who deceived the participants of the special operation, managed to escape. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) disseminated no official information about that.

On November 20, at 04:00 a.m., at least 300 armed men in masks took 37-year-old Abubakar Udziev from his house. This was reported by his brother Magomed Udziev.

"Since that time, nothing is known about him," Magomed Udziev said in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot".

"Soldiers took him away right from the house. The family members of Abubakar saw how they tied him up and forced in the street, and after that, we got no information about him, and he did not phone us," he has explained.

Commenting on the investigation of the special operation, held on November 20, officials from the Investigatory Committee of Dagestan have only told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that at present, investigatory actions to reveal all circumstances of the crime are underway.
