Residents of Anapa gathered demanding to stop filling the Anapka river

Today local Cossack activists in the health resort of Anapa, Krasnodar region, came out in opposition against filling the flood-lands of the Anapka river which they consider illegal.

The gathering of local residents started about 11:00 at the spot in the beginning of Pionersky avenue where lands along the bridge across the Anapka were, according to their statement, parceled out illegally. The Cossacks who gathered cut off the fence built in this area.

About 70 Cossacks and representatives of Coordination council of political parties of the town, association “Anapa is our common home”, ecologists and civil activists participated in the civil gathering. The participants state that the flood-lands of the Anapka river are illegally being filled although the general plan which includes these land parcels into the area has not yet been adopted.

The participants of the gathering pointed out that these land parcels did not yet physically exist because there was the river there, however, their cadastral numbers were already registered.

‘”The river was filled illegally. According to the new general plan, lands were parceled out in its place illegally and until the plan was adopted some citizens allot new parcels for themselves. There are no actual land parcels as of the moment but there is a cadaster on them. It appears that the cadaster was issued for the river”, Dmitry Slaboda, one of the participants, said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

The participants of the gathering demanded from local authorities to sort out the situation. At 14:30 representatives of the protesters were invited to Head of the health resort. The authorities of the town promised to look into the situation assuring that they were not aware of what was happening.
