Moscow Mayoralty refuses to sanction rally in support of Syrian Circassians

The Moscow Mayoralty did not sanction a rally in Pushkin Square within the worldwide action of solidarity with Syrian Circassians. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the initiative group of Circassians.

An application to hold on November 24 a rally of 300 persons was filed to the Moscow Mayoralty; the organizers planned to hold the rally in Pushkin Square. The rally was planned within worldwide action of solidarity with Syrian Circassians, scheduled for November 24 and 25.

"Today, we received the answer from the Mayoralty we were refused to hold the rally. The reason for refusal is that the legislation does not provide for sanction of rallies with demand of interference in the situation in other countries," one of the organizers of the rally told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, taking into account the cause of refusal, the initiative group of Circassians plans to submit one more application for December 2: "We will try again, having restated the demands and objectives of the rally."
