A school uniform will be introduced in Stavropol region after the incident with hijabs

A school uniform will be introduced in Stavropol region. This decision was taken by Governor of the region Valery Zerenkov. No unified variant of the uniform is planned, only general recommendations will be worked out the be specified by school administrations.

“A resolution on general requirements to school uniform was adopted on the job, yet on October, 31”, a source in the Government of Stavropol region informed on November, 18.

According to him, the question of introducing school uniform in the regional institutions of general education was discussed at a session of Public Council with the Ministry of Education of the region.

Scholl uniform will be introduced about the middle of December. “According to the Resolution, it will not be a unified uniform as such. The charter of every school will specify how the pupils should be dressed”, “Interfax” quotes the official.

According to the Resolution adopted, bare legs and stomachs, piercing, catchy inscriptions, bright clothes and head-dresses are prohibited at schools, “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” informs.

In accordance with the document, a boy must ware trousers without ornamentals, a one-colour shirt, a neutral jacket or vest without bright color tints. Schoolgirls are prohibited bright manicure or make-up, their dresses cannot be shorter than ten centimeters below the knee. All kinds of headwear, including hijabs, are prohibited in class.

“If 25 pupils ware uniforms in class and one does not he or she will have a sense of discomfort and the parents will find money to buy a uniform”, Deputy Director for tutorial work of general education school No 7 of Stavropol Irina Fomenko remarked.
