Budanov's murder to be tried by jury

Today, the Moscow City Court (MCC) has ruled that the case concerning the murder of former Colonel Yuri Budanov will be considered with participation of a jury. The selection of jurymen is scheduled for November 30; it will be made by the MCC.

During today's preliminary hearing the court also decided to satisfy the motion lodged by the prosecutor Maria Semenenko and extended Yusup Temerkhanov's custody by six months after the arrival of the case to the court, that is, starting from November 6.

The Judge Andrei Korotkov dismissed the motion of the defence asking to release the defendant on bail of 15 million roubles and left him behind bars, as Anna Usachova, the head of the press service of the MCC, has reported.

The court session was attended by the victims – Yuri Budanov's widow Svetlana and his son Valery. They categorically refused to communicate with the press.

Shamil Izaripov, the defendant's advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that his client did not plead guilty and flatly refused to evidence.
