In Georgia, heavily sick prisoner goes on hunger strike

On November 13, Dato Golidzhashvili, a heavily sick inmate of Prison No. 15 in Georgia, went on hunger strike in protest against refusal of his CER (conditional early relief).

According to the organization "Youth for Justice – Georgia", Dato Golidzhashvili suffers from bone and joint pathology and is bed-ridden for lack of appropriate treatment, the "Georgia Online" reports.

The "Echo of the Caucasus" adds that his protest action was provoked by the decision of the court, which had denied his CER on health grounds.
