Rights defenders report on unlawful detention of three persons in Makhachkala

Human rights defenders report unlawful detention of three residents of Makhachkala. According to eyewitnesses, the detainees were beaten by law enforces, and weapons were planted to them.

On November 9, Mutuk Abduragimov, born in 1990, Sultan Abduragimov, born 1987, and their friend Eldar went together for Friday prayer to the mosque, located in Hungarian Soldiers of Makhachkala Street. This was stated by Zarema Yusupova, a city resident, the wife of Mutuk Abduragimov.

"After the prayer, at about 02:30 p.m., Mutuk called me and said that they had already left the mosque and that he and his brother and their friends would go to the village of Separatorny. About an hour later, I called my husband; however, his mobile phone was switched off. Immediately, I became to call his brother Sultan and their friends; however, their mobile phones were also switched off," Zarema Yusupova stated.

At about 06:00 p.m. Moscow time, the Dagestani regional public organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) was contacted by a resident of Makhachkala, who told the human rights defenders that her friend Madina Magomedova witnessed the kidnapping, which occurred near the trolleybus ring, located in Akushinsky Street in Makhachkala.

Later, the DRPO "Pravozaschita" was contacted by Zarema Yusupova, who appealed for help and explained the circumstances of the disappearance of her husband, his brother, and their friend.

"Zarema Yusupova called us at about midnight and said that all kidnapped persons were found at the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division) and cartridges and grenades were planted to them," a representative of the DRPO "Pravozaschita" states.
