The bus drivers in Tbilisi started a token strike
A token strike of municipal bus drivers started in Tbilisi this morning. The drivers of municipal buses of Tbilisi demanded from the administration of the transport company of the city to raise their monthly wages.
Today the drivers of all the three bus fleets of Tbilisi are on a strike. All in all 1 300 drivers are taking part in it, “Georgia Online” reports.
The strikers demand improvement of working conditions, raising wages and facilities in health service. Not a single bus came out on line today.
The drivers took the decision of a token strike tonight upon the results of a meeting with representatives of Mayor’s office of Tbilisi who refused to grant the demand they entered, IA “Novosti-Georgia” informs.
The strike will last one day. The management of Transport Trade union apologized themselves before the residents of Tbilisi for inconvenience caused by the strike.
