Law enforcers block Department of Islamic products in Makhachkala shopping centre

In the capital of Dagestan, armed law enforcers have cordoned off the shopping centre "GUM", and they intend to detain all employees of the Department of Islamic products, who wear hijabs. This was stated by Asiya Magomedova, an employee of the shopping centre.

"A moment ago, armed police officers ran into the Department, where Islamic products are being sold. They demanded that all saleswomen in hijabs should go with them to the police station, where all of them would be released after some conversation. The police officers refused to introduce themselves, and they just stated that they were staff members of the OVD (Interior Division) of the Soviet District. They had no permits with them, and they also refused to specify the reason for their behaviour. We refused to go with them, and then, the police officers said that they would not let us out of the shopping centre. At present, we sit here, and we do not know what to do, and our family members and young children wait us at home," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Asiya Magomedova.

According to the woman, the police officers were rude; however, "after the saleswomen managed to phone their relatives, their behaviour changed."
