Residents of Krasnodar village protest against authorities' actions resulted in ecocatastrophe

On February 26, residents of the Prorvensky village published an open letter to the governor of the Kuban region, Aleksandr Tkachyov. They tell in it what damage has been done to their health as a result of an emergency at a gas producer on the shore of the Sea of Azov. Prorvensky people hold they have been treated with criminal indifference.

The local authorities pretend that everything is all right. The people make a number of demands: either to stop gas extraction in the area or to resettle all residents of the village to a safe place; to make a thorough medical examination of local residents; to make an independent ecological examination; to compensate village residents for material and moral damage.

Neither the regional administration nor the Kubangazprom direction has reacted to the letter so far.
