Vadim Khoranov, wounded in explosion at "Chermen" checkpoint, discharged from resuscitation ward
In Moscow, Captain Vadim Khoranov, who was seriously wounded in the explosion at the "Chermen" checkpoint on the administrative border between North Ossetia and Ingushetia, was transferred from the resuscitation ward to the neurological surgery ward.
On October 23, the terror act at the "Chermen" checkpoint on the border of North Ossetia and Ingushetia was committed by a suicide bomber. The explosion killed Police Junior Lieutenant Zaur Djibilov, and four more policemen Lieutenants Vaso Basiev and Nana Latishvili, Senior Sergeant Evgeny Korneev, detached for service from the Ivanovo Region, and Police Captain Vadim Khoranov were wounded. Vadim Khoranov, who was seriously wounded to his head, was delivered to Moscow, to the Chief Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation.
On October 24, Vadim Khoranov underwent a complicated surgery, which involved ENT specialists, ophthalmologists, and maxillofacial specialists.
Alexander Panevin, Deputy Chief of the Hospital, has emphasized the positive dynamics of health state of Vadim Khoranov and reported that the wounded man is gradually getting better. This was reported by Karina Besolova, Chief of the press service of the permanent mission in North Ossetia.
The wounded officer is attended by his wife Madina. "He walks and talks without help, as far as his dressing allows. He is to undergo one more surgery in three weeks," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Karina Besolova.
