Ingushetia: "Mekhk-Khel" hunger-strikers need medical care

Five supporters of the Ingush regional public movement "Mekhk-Khel", who were arrested for 15 days each and went on a protest hunger strike, need medical care, but continue their protest, the head of the organization Idris Abadiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Mr Abadiev, two hunger-strikers – Musa Albogachiev and Musa Abadiev – are kept at the IVS (temporary detention facility) of the Sunzha OVD (Interior Division). Sultan-Girei Khashagulgov, Tamerlan Abadiev and Serazhdin Sultagov were sent to the IVS of the Malgobek OVD.

"Musa Abadiev, who was beaten by policemen, has a heavy head trauma – brain concussion; however, he has received no medical treatment, although the ambulance doctors who came after detention insisted on his hospitalization. Musa Albogachiev is a hypertension patient; he also needs medical help. Knowing the custody conditions at IVSs, we wanted to pass bedding clothes and supplies of bottled water over to all the five. However, nothing was allowed, saying that the detainees need nothing," Idris Abadiev told the "Caucasian Knot".

Adil Dzagiev, a chief specialist of the Ombudsperson's Office in the Republic of Ingushetia, visited the Malgobek IVS "to check the custody conditions of Serazhdina Sultygov, Tamerlan Abadiev and Sultan-Girei Khashagulgov, sentenced to the administrative penalty of 15 days in jail." According to his story, all the three need medical care.

"Sultygov has deteriorated vision problems, Abadiev complains of toothache, and Khashagulgov needs a doctor to remove sutures after surgery in the mouth. I wrote about it in my memo notice," said Adil Dzagiev.
