Oppositionist Magomed Khazbiev back at large in Ingushetia

Today, the Ingush oppositionist Magomed Khazbiev, who was put in jail on October 19 for 15 days for an administrative offence, was released.

According to the police, at night on September 1 near a hospital in Nazran, a group of five persons, Magomed Khazbiev's brothers among them, blocked, under hooligan motives, a police car with the agents involved in search operations. All the hooligans were taken to the Nazran OVD (Interior Department), while their associates Magomed Khazbiev and Ilez Nalgiev fled the scene, as reported by the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs. On October 19, Magomed Khazbiev was arrested for 15 days.

"Today, my detention term is over, and I was released," Mr Khazbiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent".

According to the oppositionist, his lawyer had appealed against the decision of the Nazran District Court to put Khazbiev in jail for 15 days; however, the motion has not been considered so far, since the judge, "to whom the motion was directed, is on a sick leave."
