Case against suspects of killing ex-Colonel Yuri Budanov brought to court
The Chief Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in Moscow has completed the investigation into the criminal case against Yusup Temerkhanov, accused of the murder of ex-Colonel Yuri Budanov.
According to Vladimir Markin, the official representative of the ICRF, Yusup Temerkhanov is accused of the murder, motivated by hatred and enmity and arms traffic.
Vladimir Markin has noted the investigators believe that on June 10, 2011, when Yuri Budanov, who fought in Chechnya and who served his sentence for the murder of Elza Kungaeva, a Chechen young woman, left the notary's office, Yusup Temerkhanov made eight shot to the ex-Colonel. "The victim died in place from the wounds," Vladimir Markin said. According to him, after the crime, Yusup Temerkhanov drove away in a car and then set fire to the car; however, the fire was extinguished and "genetic evidence, which allowed identifying the suspect" was found.
According to the investigators, "the motive of the murder was a revenge for the death of his father". This was reported by the official website of the ICRF.
The criminal case against two suspected accomplices of Yusup Temerkhanov has been separated into individual proceedings, and the investigation into is underway, the "ITAR-TASS" reports.
