Relatives of Akhmedkhan Aushev, detained in Ingushetia, cannot find out his whereabouts

The wife of Akhmedkhan Aushev, a resident of Nazran, who was detained during a special operation in Ingushetia and who, according to his lawyers, was subjected to torture by power agents, states that since October 31, she cannot find out where her husband was brought.

Power agents reported that on June 29, three militants were detained during operative and search operations in the municipal district of Nasir-Kortsky of the city of Nazran. On July 2, the press service of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) explained that as a result of special operation, Akhmedkhan Aushev, the leader of the "Nazran" grouping, Bashir Mislaurov, his personal driver, and Zurab Didigov, who provided militants with means of communication. During her first visit to Akhmedkhan Aushev, lawyer Luiza Isaeva saw signs of torture on his body. According to her, the defendant confirmed that he had been tortured to obtain a confession.

According to the wife of Akhmedkhan Aushev, he and Bashir Mislaurov were kept at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 1, and Zurab Didigov was kept at the FSB. At present, investigatory actions are underway, and the detention of the men was extended till December 30.

"On October 23, they were transferred to the Oktyabrsky IVS (temporary detention facility)," the wife of Akhmedkhan Aushev said. She continued: "We were not explained why they had been transferred there. My husband was visited by investigator Manzhiev, who said that they would be kept at the IVS for six or seven days and then they would be taken back. However, they were detained for ten days, and on October 31, at 01:00 p.m., they were again brought to somewhere. And since that time, we cannot find them."
