The prosecution on the case of beating a teenager in Dagestan demands up to 4 years of custody for the defendants
At the session of Shamil district court of Dagestan on the case of beating up Mahmud Ahmedov aged 14 by officers of Shamil district Department of Interior Affairs Gamzat Nurudinov and Shamil Magomedaliev on October, 1, Public Prosecutor Zapir Magomedov demanded 3 and 4 years of custody for the defendants.
The defendants’ attorney did not come to the trial, a source in the court told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent. In spite of the fact that the defendants’ attorney was absent the judge decided to continue trial. Judicial pleadings were held at this session.
State Prosecutor Zapir Magomedov read out the indictment and referring to mitigating circumstances and collaboration with the investigation asked to sentence Shamil Magomedaliev to 3 years of custody on probation of 2 years conditionally and defendant Gamzat Nurudinov to 4 years of custody on probation of 1 year conditionally.
The sufferer’s attorney Aziz Kurbanov supported Public Prosecutor’s request in full and agreed with this penalty to the defendants, the source reported.
The defendants themselves declared that their guilt was not proven and asked to listen to the opinion of their attorney who according to them, was absent for valid reasons. The court decided to continue trial on November, 8.
