Investigators see no nationalistic or religious motives in mass brawl in Kislovodsk

The investigation examines several versions within the criminal case on the mass brawl in Kislovodsk; however, inspectors see no motives of nationalistic or religious hatred, reports the Investigatory Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The mass brawl burst out in Kislovodsk in the evening on July 21. As previously reported, the conflict took place between three young men and a group of people in camouflage in an amount of about 15 persons. As a result of the fight, two persons were killed.

One of the victims of the fighting, who was stabbed, remains in the intensive care unit, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Under the official version, the reason for the fight was in a mobile phone, which one of the participants of the conflict allegedly tried to grab from another one. Unofficial sources say that the parties of the clash were natives from the Caucasus and the Cossack patrol unit.

According to Ekaterina Danilova, a senior assistant to the head of the Regional Investigatory Committee, today the first suspect was detained.
