5 persons arrested for 15 days after incident in Karaleti
On July 14, the court pronounced the decision to sentence 5 persons, detained by police in connection with the incident in the village of Karaleti of the Gori District of Georgia, to 15-days arrest.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 12, 13 persons suffered in the clash between representatives of the Bidzina Ivanishvili's coalition "Georgian Dream" and supporters of the authorities in the refugees' dwelling settlement in the village of Karaleti. Saba Tsitsikashvili, the head of the Information Centre "Shida-Kartli", was among the aggrieved persons.
"In the village of Karaleti, the incident occurred between supporters and opponents of the coalition 'Georgian Dream'. Verbal abuse escalated into physical confrontation. The police reviewed the video record, which registered that fact, identified and detained the participants in that incident: Tsotne Shengeliya, Kakha Gogiashvili, Vladimir Djanezashvili, and Georgy Gochashvili. Besides, the police also detained Levan Maisuradze, who inflicted physical and verbal abuse to Saba Tsitsikashvili, the journalist of the agency 'Info 9'," the agency "Georgia Online" quotes the statement of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The Gori District Court sentenced 5 detainees to 15-day administrative detention, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
