King of Jordan is ready to help Syrian Circassians in repatriation, public figures of Adygea assert
Adygea was visited by Munir Sobrok, a Jordanian MP, local public activists report. According to their story, the aim of the visit was to study the situation in the republic in the context of the readiness of the King of Jordan Abdullah II to help Syrian Circassians who wish to move from Syria and Jordan to Adygea.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov met Munir Sobrok on July 3, as Mugdin Chermit, a Deputy of the State Council-Khase of the Republic of Adygea and the vice president of the International Circassian Association, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"I was also present at the meeting. The aim of Mr Sobrok's visit was to study the situation in Adygea. The high guest said that the King of Jordan Abdullah II is ready to help all the Circassians, leaving Syria because of the warfare – those who want to stay in Jordan and those who want to move here," said Mugdin Chermit.
The information that Mr Sobrok has visited Adygea and reported the willingness of Abdullah II to help Syrian Circassians was also confirmed by Rashid Mugu, a member of the executive committee of the movement "Adyge-Khase-Circassian Parliament".
According to Mr Mugu, "we know that the Jordanian authorities are not obstructing the Circassians, who are fleeing from the warfare in Syria to this country."
"Quite a lot of Syrian Circassians have gathered there. Not all of them want to move to Adygea, but some of them wish to come here. According to Mr Sobrok, King Abdullah II is ready to help them to move, give an aircraft, if the republic's leaders here are ready to accept the resettlers and help," said Mr Mugu.
