Kutaisi journalists protest against restrictions on visiting Mayoralty

Today in Kutaisi journalists of local mass media have held a protest action opposite the city administrative building; they protested against the imposition of restrictions on visiting the Mayoralty.

According to the protesters, this week they were limited in the right of free movement within the administrative building, which houses the Mayoralty, Sakrebulo (a representative body of power, which is not part of the municipality, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") and the regional administration of Imereti.

The protesters held posters: "Free media without restrictions!" "We break no law that is punishable!" "Access to public information!" and "No restrictions!" The workers of local media have held their silent action against the interference in their professional activities, the "Medianews" reports.

Upon completion of the action, the journalists submitted an application to the Mayoralty's office demanding public explanations on the restrictions and the system of passes, the "Georgia Online" reports.
