Dagestani resident killed in special operation was armless, his father asserts

Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev, who was killed during the special operation, held in Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk on June 8, had no weapons. This was stated by his father Khaidarbek Magomedgadjiev. He intends to prove in court that his son was not involved in the armed underground.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on June 8, in Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, 312 km north-west of Makhachkala, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced. Suspected militants were blocked in an apartment of the apartment house. Six persons were killed in the special operation. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the casualties were identified Rustam Gasanov, the leader of the Kizlyar grouping, his wife Djamilya Makagadjieva, who was on the wanted list, Magomed Abdulmuslimov, Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev, and Nurmagomed Magomedov. Khaibulla Labazanov, the owner of the apartment, was also identified.

"I want to prove in court Abdulaziz's innocence. My son really had nothing common with militants, and he never held weapon in his hands. We also have a certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, where it is stated in black and white, that my son in was not involved in anything illegal. On June 8, power agents did not allow me speaking to my son, although they reported everywhere about the talks, which were allegedly carried out with him. He was just shot dead, and then a weapon was planted to him; however, there are witnesses, who saw everything," Khaidarbek Magomedgadjiev stated.

Let us remind you that the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) stated that they organized talks with the persons, blocked in the apartment. "During many hours of organized talks, we repeatedly asked the militants to lay down arms and surrender to the authorities. However, the militants responded by fire from automatic weapons to the cordon, and during the assault of the building, they were fatally wounded," the statement on the NAC's website reports.

Arif Akhmedov, a neighbour of Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev, also stated that the deceased man was unarmed. "Early in the morning, I heard submachine gun bursts, and when I went to the window, I saw a wounded young man with a small beard, who was lying on the ground. He still moved. No weapon was near him. Then, I learned that it was Abdulaziz," Arif Akhmedov has noted.

Lawyer Gazimagomed Khiriev has emphasized that Khaidarbek Magomedgadjiev is unlikely to win the trial. "There is officially announced version that Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev was killed during the special operation. Judges are unlikely to oppose law enforcement officers. However, in any case, the initiative of Khaidarbek Magomedgadjiev should be supported, since he seeks justice in the law, and that is rarely found in Dagestan," the lawyer has stressed.
