Chechen native, detained at "Mosfilm", to remain under arrest for other six months

In Moscow, court extended for other six months the period of detention in custody for Malkho Bisultanov, a Chechen native, who was detained in Moscow in the territory of the "Mosfilm" Film Studio. The detainee is accused of trying to sell drugs.

On July 5, the court was to hold preliminary court hearings on the case against Malkho Bisulanov. This was reported by his lawyer Rosa Magomedova.

However, according to her, all proceedings were limited to the transfer of the case from the Nikulino Court to the Kuntsevo Court and extension of detention in custody. Rosa Magomedova also said that on May 11, a procedure for court hearings on the extension of detention in custody for her client was violated.

"I was not invited to attend the court hearings for the extension of detention in custody, and when I arrived, they brought to me another defendant. As a result, I met Malkho only at the SIZO after the judgment," the lawyer states.

Besides, Rosa Magomedova suggested that police officers planted a packet of drugs to her client at his arrest. However, according to her, the complaint against the unlawful actions of the police officers, filed to the Chief Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation in Moscow was dismissed. "They said that they saw no unlawful actions there," the lawyer said.

According to her, one more complaint against the actions of the police officers is being considered by the Investigatory Committee. "Two weeks ago, they (representatives of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), note of the 'Caucasian Knot') sent an interim response, addressed to Svetlana Gannushkina (Chair of the Committee 'Civil Assistance', at which Rosa Magomedova is employed, note of the 'Caucasian Knot'), which stated that the case was brought to the Dorogomilovo Prosecutor's Office," the lawyer stated.

According to the lawyer, as far as the conditions of detention in custody of Malkho Bisultanov are concerned, then "in general, they are acceptable." "He is not subjected to physical violence. The administration even 'throws' drinkers or 'drug addicts' to his cell for correction. His main problem is a psychological one," Rosa Magomedova has stressed.

The interests of Malkho Bisultanov are represented by lawyers Abusupyan Gaitaev and Rosa Magomedova, the defence is supported by the Committee "Civil Assistance" and the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", the website "Human Rights in Russia" reports.
