Profile Committee recommends State Duma to deprived Vladimir Bessonov of his parliamentary immunity
The Committee on Rules and Organization of Work of the State Duma recommends it to agree to deprive of his parliamentary immunity Vladimir Bessonov, the MP from the Rostov Region, accused by investigators of rendering resistance policemen during the pre-election rally, held on December 2, 2011, in Rostov-on-Don.
Today, eight members of the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party voted to deprive Vladimir Bessonov of parliamentary immunity, and six oppositional MPs voted against.
According to Ildar Gabdrakhmanov, the head of the Committee, deprivation of Vladimir Bessonov of his parliamentary immunity provides the investigators with the opportunity to conduct objective investigation and reveal the truth, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
In his turn, Evgeny Bessonov, the leader of the faction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) in the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region, considers the decision of the majority members of the Commission of the State Duma to deprive Vladimir Bessonov, the MP from the CPRF and his brother, of his parliamentary immunity as "political order".
"The police have no evidence that Vladimir Bessonov applied violence against the policemen," the "Interfax" quotes Evgeny Bessonov as saying.
