In Tbilisi, youth wing of "Georgian Dream" holds action "Chamber of Gossip"

Today, representatives of the youth movement of "Georgia Dream", the political coalition of billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, held an action "Chamber of Gossip" in front of the Control Chamber of Georgia in Tbilisi.

"We called our today's action 'Chamber of Gossip', since the decisions of the Control Chamber are far from the rule of law. These decisions are made at the level of gossip," stated Tsotne Zurabiani, the representative of the movement. According to him, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili seeks to ensure that the society lost a sense of justice; however, the "Georgian Dream" will not allow that.

The participants of the action symbolically brought for Natia Mogeladze, the head of the Monitoring Service for financial activities of parties of the Control Chamber, "necessary attributes for gossip", including cards, seeds, coffee and other items; however, the guards of the Control Chamber refused to take them, the news agency "News Georgia" reports.

The action was held after today the Financial Monitoring Service recognized political units, members of the coalition "Georgian Dream", as law breakers and brought materials to the Tbilisi City Court for the consideration.

The complaint of the Control Chamber states that Limited liability Company (LLC) "Management Service" hired at its own expenses and conducted maintenance works for the amount of 476,614.51 laris (about 300,000 US dollars) of the offices of the coalition "Georgian Dream" in different regions of the country. The offices are used by political units the public movement "Georgian Dream" and parties-members of the coalition parties the Republican Party, the National Forum, the "Our Georgia Free Democrats", the "Georgia's Dream Democratic Georgia", the Conservative Party, and the "Industry will Save Georgia" Party.

According to the controlling agency, gratuitous services of the LLC "Management Service" to the political units are treated as illegal donation. In accordance with Part 1 of Article 27 of the Law "On Political Unions of Citizens", if the requirements of the Law are violated at receiving donations, the party shall return the received amount back within five days. In the event of failure to comply with of the requirement, the amount is to be transferred to the state budget, and the party is imposed a responsibility, assigned by the law.

On the basis of the above, the Control Chamber recognized the mentioned parties as law breakers, the "Georgia Online" reports.
