Power agents name casualties of special operation in Dagestan

The spokesman of the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has disclosed the names of all those killed today during the special operation in Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, including Rustam Gasanov, the leader of the Kizlyar grouping, his wife, three suspected militants and the owner of the apartment, in which all the six were shot dead.

Today in the morning, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the city of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, located 312 km northwest of Makhachkala, near the border with the Stavropol Territory. There, in an apartment of a dwelling block, suspected militants were blocked. Six of them were liquidated during the special operation.

The NAC said that one of the casualties was identified as Rustam Gasanov, the leader of the so-called "Kizlyar grouping". According to the Committee, Djamilya Makagadjieva, Gasanov's wife, who had been on the search list for a long time as a helper to the members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) and in March 2012 went into hiding, was also identified among the casualties.

They also managed to identify Magomed Abdulmuslimov, a native of the Zimovniki District, Rostov Region; Abdulaziz Magomedgadjiev, a native of the Tyumen Region, and Nurmagomed Magomedov, a resident of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk.

Khaibulla Labazanov, a native and a resident of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, the owner of the apartment, in which the alleged militants had been found, was also identified. According to the NAC, he provided them with housing and supplied food and medications, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

A preliminary examination of the place of the armed clash revealed several units of automatic firearms and ammunition. As reported by the "Interfax" with reference to power agents, nobody was harmed from among the local population; and there were no losses among law enforcers.

So far, there are no comments of the casualties' relatives.
