US Ambassador to Georgia: numerous Georgian-Abkhazian meetings have no noticeable results

Prime Minister of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba and US Ambassador to Georgia Richard Miles discussed the situation that has arisen after the change of power in Georgia with the negotiation process on the resolution of the conflict between Georgia and Abkhazia. Abkhazian Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba and the Abkhazian President's aide Astamur Tarba were also present at the meeting.

The Abkhazian top officials declared that the peace process of the conflict resolution must be continued and emphasized their interest in the discussions on specific problems.

The US diplomat, in his turn, stressed that the adjustment of Georgian-Abkhazian relations was "a complex problem". In his opinion, numerous meeting between representatives of Georgia and Abkhazia have no noticeable results.
