Inquiry on beating up a resident of Nalchik in the police office started in Kabardino-Balkaria

A criminal case was initiated by republican Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation (CIR) in KBR on the fact of beating up resident of Nalchik Inal Berov by the personnel of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. Inal Berov was officially acknowledged sufferer.

Muradin Berov said that the personnel were wresting an admission of guilt from his son concerning a crime he had nothing to do with: Inal was earlier slandered by a detainee accused of robbery. They got no confession from him and next day he was released.

The Department of CIR in KBR initiated a criminal case on the fact of beating up Inal Berov by the personnel of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of KBR according to point "a", clause 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (committing actions by an official obviously going beyond the bounds of his authority and resulting in considerable violations of the citizens' rights and legal interests), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to the decision of acknowledgment of Inal Berov sufferer, the inspection revealed that unidentified persons from the Ministry of Interior Affairs of KBR inflicted bodily injuries on him in the administrative building of the Ministry.

According to forensic report of March, 7, fracture of the third lumbar vertebra without disturbance of spinal marrow functions was diagnosed which is qualified as moderately severe bodily harm.

While examining Berov the physicians also diagnosed brain concussion and chest distortion qualified as a light bodily harm as well as a hurt of soft-tissue of his head, bruises, scratches on the face, bruises of his chest, left upper and lower extremities and scrotum that did not result in an injury to his health or durable loss of faculty.

According to Muradin Berov who submitted a statement about beating up his son to Public prosecutor's office and Investigative Department of CIR in KBR, he is satisfied with starting criminal proceedings and hopes that the case will be referred to court.

He thinks it is no problem to identify the persons who beat up his son.
