French islamists enlisting volunteers for war in Chechnya were put under examination

Six Islamists from a network enlisting volunteers for the war in Chechnya have been officially put under examination. They were arrested last week in the suburbs of Lyons, France. They are suspected of the preparation of a terrorist act with the use of chemicals. One of the six suspects is released from custody for the period of investigation, the others are imprisoned. In conformity with the French legislation, putting under examination is the first stage in bringing a formal accusation.
