Representative of Chechen leader wounded in Ekaterinburg
An unidentified person made a shot at Salautdin Mamakov, the representative of the head of the Chechen Republic in the Sverdlovsk Region. This was reported by the Department for the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).The incident occurred at 7:45 p.m. on September 5 near No. 52 in Aviatsionnaya Street.
"Salautdin Mamakov was met by a young man, who went behind him and not saying a word made a shot from an unidentified weapon, presumably from a traumatic pistol, and then quickly disappeared in the yards," said a source from the MIA Department.
The victim was rendered medical help at the hospital, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
"Mr Mamakov has a slight damage of chest tissues from his back. He feels well enough to help operative agents in compiling an identikit of his attacker," the regional police said.
