An action of protest in support of activist of "Solidarity" Victor Chirikov passed off in Krasnodar region
Representatives of ecologic movements in Krasnodar region tried to picket a so-called "Putin's country-house" in support of activist of "Solidarity" Victor Chirikov. The action was headed by Evgenia Chirikova, leader of the movement in protection of Khimki forest and the detainee's namesake.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that activist of "Solidarity" movement Victor Chirikov was detained at 17:00, August, 27, during a marine action of protest opposite the country house of Governor of Krasnodar region Alexander Tkachev in Golubaya Bukhta (Blue Bay). He was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest.
On September, 2, activists of "Environmental Watch on North Caucasus" Suren Gazaryan and Ekaterina Solovieva were detained at a picket in Victor Chirikov's support near the office of Krasnodar regional Administration.
The action in Chirikov's support on September, 4, passed off near Gelendzhik. The manifestants successfully passed round two guard cordons and spread out a poster "Putin! Freedom to Victor Chirikov!" near the checkpoint after which they were ordered off the territory, "Commersant" reports.
"Victor Chirikov was detained and beaten up by the police personnel for no reason. I considered it my duty to go there and support the action. We think it is Vladimir Putin who is guilty of the innocent people's detention", "Gazeta.ru" quotes the leader of the movement in protection of Khimki forest.
It should be reminded that the information of "Putin's palace" appeared after Sergey Kolesnikov, entrepreneur from St. Petersburg and former business partner of Prime Ministers' friends wrote an open letter to President Medvedev. Putin's Press service refuted this information, "Echo of Moscow" reports.
