Moscow court extends custody of Apti and Aishat Magmadov
Today, the Moscow Regional Court has held a session on the criminal case against two natives of Chechnya - Apti and Aishat Magmadov, accused of promoting terrorism and setting up illegal armed formations (IAFs). At the request of the prosecutor, their custody was extended till December 22, 2011.
The advocate Musa Khadisov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the defence party objected to the extension of Magmadovs' custody, since no consequences of the accusations presented to them had followed.
"We also objected because of the illness of Aishat Magmadova: she has an eye disease and needs a surgery. We drew the court's attention to the fact that Egle Kusaite, who is accused of Lithuania on the same charges, remains at large; she was released from custody, but why we are different here?" Musa Khadisov has asked.
The court session lasted for about an hour and was held behind closed doors. The next court session to deal with the case of the natives of Chechnya Magmadovs will be held on September 27.
