Russian Public Chamber takes control over investigation into death of teenager in Kalmykia
The members of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for public control over law enforcement bodies will take control over the inquiry into the death of Artyom Malinovskiy, 16, in Kalmykia.
As earlier reported by the "Caucasian Knot", Artyom Malinovskiy died in Kalmykia on August 25. Before his death, he was brought by policemen to the narcology dispensary, but fled from them. According to Baatr Gindeev, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Kalmykia, when running away the boy ran into gymnastics metal bars and fatally hurt himself. His body was found in the stairwell of one of the houses in Elista, the capital of Kalmykia.
The Russian Public Chamber was concerned about the teenager's death. The members of the above commission decided to send a request to the Republic's Investigatory Committee asking to conduct their own check of Malinovskiy's case and carefully verify the data of the forensic-medical examination.
"The case requires at least an additional check, which cannot be conducted by the agency pertaining to the proceedings. The Public Chamber, on its part, will take the investigation under control," the source named the "Tribune of the Public Chamber" quotes Olga Kostina, a member of the Russian Public Chamber.
Let us note here that now the teenager's death is under the pre-investigation check; no process evaluation has been made yet.
