Volgograd drivers to support the all-Russian protest action against increase of fuel prices
In late September, the Volgograd Region will host a drivers' protest action against the incessant growth of gasoline prices. The action is organized by the Movement of Russian Motorists; and its Volgograd branch decided to support it.
Draft leaflets to be attached to their cars by protesters are ready: an A4-sized label will read: "We are against gasoline prices growth". The action will be held under the slogans "Don't let to fool yourself!" and "The more expensive the gasoline – the less remains for children!" The fact that drives refused to refuel is not confirmed; and the exact date of the action is not reported.
"For some reason, politicians are fond of talking about curbing the rising fuel prices; however, they never go farther than words. If we calculate the real cost of gasoline, then, a litre of fuel should cost half of the current price," the website "Volgograd Times" quotes Armen Oganesyan, Chairman of the Volgograd Branch of the "Movement of Russian Motorists".
As reported by the website of the "Movement", the protests will take place in 46 cities of Russia. In Southern Russia, apart from Volgograd, the action will involve drivers from Maikop, Stavropol and Taganrog.
