Kabardino-Balkarian participants of Youth Forum "Mashuk-2011" win ten grants

Ten projects submitted by participants from the city of Prokhladny, Kabardino-Balkaria, to the contest within the Youth Forum "Mashuk-2011", which was held in July in Pyatigorsk, received grants.

All the projects, submitted from Prokhladny, are socially oriented. Thus, the project "Dialogue of Generations" by Eugenia Chetvertakova and Alexandra Kondratieva, who won in the category "Education and Volunteering", aims to create a more favourable social well-being of pensioners through organizing volunteer patronage.

"We have developed a project aiming to set up volunteer groups. They will provide psychological help to elderly persons and teach them in computer skills," said Ms Chetvertakova.

The project "Choice is up to you", submitted by Stanislav Scheglov, a soloist of the vocal group "T-Era" from Prokhladny, concerns promotion of healthy lifestyle among youngsters by performing free concerts. Seven concerts are already scheduled until the end of the year.

Another project concerns setting up a platform for placing relevant information through a powerful online resource. "Here, young people will be able to post their projects, suggestions and ideas. This will help in attracting the youth to active participation in the life of our city," said Mikhail Kesel, a specialist from the department of youth policy, physical culture, sports and public health of the administration of Prokhladny.

The authors of the projects will receive 850,000 roubles in total.
