Mikhail Saakashvili celebrates victory in Georgian presidential election

Mikhail Saakashvili, a Georgian presidential contender, and his supporters are celebrating a victory in the election.

Immediately after the polling stations in Georgia were closed at 8 p.m. local time (4 p.m. GMT), the Georgian media publicized the results of the exit polls, which showed that Saakashvili garnered about 85% of the vote.

Mikhail Saakashvili thanked all the voters for support and said that "the time to act has come."
