Flood damages 40 houses in Krasnodar Territory

About 40 houses were damaged on Friday because of floods caused by rains in the Tuapse District, Krasnodar Territory. As reported by the press service of the Southern Regional Centre of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of the Russian Federation, tonight a storm warning was announced in this and the Apsheron District; flooding of certain dwelling settlements was announced possible.

An emergency warning because of rains was announced in the Tuapse District back on November 25. Today, according to the MfE, rain water has flooded three houses in the village of Nebug, four houses - in Gorny settlement and 30 houses - in the settlement of Shaumyan. Fortunately, there are no victims.

By now, water left all the houses; people were not evacuated. Rescuers keep temporary accommodation facilities ready for the case of evacuation because of flooding: should the situation aggravate, residents will be evacuated to such facilities located in Gorny and Shaumyan, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The "Interfax-South" reports with reference to the Chief Department of the MfE for the region that heavy rains expected at night and in the morning on November 28 may lift river water up to dangerous levels and above.
