Doku Umarov discharged the commanders of Chechen sector of gunmen

On September, 21, Doku Umarov, head of Chechen gunmen, deprived Aslanbek Vadalov, Khusein Gakaev and Tarkhan Gaziev, leaders of Chechen sector of "Caucasus" Imarat, of their ranks and titles for having disobeyed him. On Umarov's decision the degraded commanders had to be brought before shariat court.

It was just these commanders for whose heads he promised ten million rubles that on August, 29, organized an attack upon Tsentoroy, Chechen leader's ancestral settlement.

In his special statement published on one of the extremist web-sites Umarov declared that the discharged commanders "have refused to obey and are causing a split in the file of gunmen by their further actions".

Experts think that the event indicates to a serious dissidence in the gunmen community. Ruslan Martagov, political scientist, commented on the situation: "Doky Umarov has long ago lost control over things and his actions are manipulated by other people". "Commersant" reported his opinion that without the gunmen's participation "Caucasus" Imarat was doomed.
