Militants take responsibility for explosion near Moscow Gazprom office

The leader of North-Caucasian militants Dokku Umarov has taken responsibility for the explosion triggered in the garage of a high-ranking official from the Moscow government, located not far from the Gazprom headquarters.

The incident happened on August 9. According to the experts, who studied the venue, the bomb was triggered by a mobile telephone. A criminal case was opened on the case, the "Interfax" reports.

As it became known today, the subversive division named "Riyadus Salikhiin" took responsibility for the explosion near the Gazprom office. A letter sent to one of the websites supporting militants runs that the explosion was ordered by Dokku Umarov, leader of the so-called "Imarat Kavkaz".

The "Kavkaz-Online" reports with reference to a member of the above division that the aim of the operation was not to kill people, but to demonstrate their ability "to conduct operations against well-guarded objects" and "strike blows practically in any point."

The authors of the letter emphasize that Gazprom war the militants' target, their aim was "to prove that the Kremlin has failed to cope with Chechen separatists," the Reuters reports.
