Refugees are being offered to take vote

The distribution of application forms has been started in the tent camps and places of compact residence of Chechen refugees on the territory of Ingushetia. Those forms are of the following content.

 

To the territorial election commission

from ... registered at the address ...

passport ... issued ...

 

Application

I am asking you to allow me to take vote in the election of the President of the Chechen Republic at the polling station situated at the address...

So, the situation that arose before the referendum on the Chechen Constitution on March 23, 2003 recurs. Today, just as at that time, there are cases when functionaries of different levels notify refugees those of them who will refuse to vote will be excluded from the lists for getting humanitarian aid and deprived of the chance for receiving compensation payments for lost dwelling and property.
